I started using Social Media in 8th grade. I didn't get a phone till I was 13 years old, I only had an iPod until then. Once I got a real phone I was allowed to get social media. My main source of media was Instagram and Pinterest, I was obsessed with making mood boards on Pinterest. I interact with only my friends on social media only because you never know who is hiding behind a phone screen. I find it beneficial to only share your social media with people you trust because it gives you privacy and security from the outside world. These platforms can be beneficial in my career because I want to open a preschool, they can help with advertising.

I would say growing up I went to digitally rich schools. In elementary school we had desktops in our classes, and a smart board for the teacher. In middle school we then had school laptops and by high school all our work transferred over to our computers. My high school experience has impacted my college technology preparation because it has prepared me with the tools I need now, with having to work with MS word, Google Docs, Excel, etc. My early experiences with technology definitely helps me with security while using technology.

In my future class room I would use Google Docs and Google Classroom for collaborative writing and social annotation. Google Docs would allow students to work together on the same document, while leaving comments and providing feedback to one another. I would incorporate these tools into my learning to help students understand communication and sharing ideas. For a lesson I could have students work in groups annotating a story together, highlighting key ideas, underling words they don't understand, and asking questions. Then after they can write a paragraph about what they learned to share with the rest of the class. I would prepare my students with success by teaching them how to use these tools and model appropriate feedback with one another. I would show them what respectful  communication looks like online.
